Genesis 9 & 10: Are You Fruitful?
Verse of the Day: (9:1) And God blessed Noah and his sons, and said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth.
1. Fruitful (9:1-7)
And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the LORD had respect unto Abel and to his offering… (Genesis 4:4)
Children are God’s blessings to man, as we are all made in God’s image and for His glory. Since the beginning of creation, God made Adam and Eve to be fruitful and have many children so as to fill the earth that all may live to glorify Him. Though Adam and Eve sinned against God, yet God made a way for them to repent their sins by believing by faith that God shall send His only Son, Jesus, as a sacrificial Lamb, to die for the sins of the world. This was demonstrated by the faith of Abel, Adam’s son, when God accepted his offering of the blood of his flock, which was the prophecy of the coming of the Lamb, Jesus, who would die and shed His blood for the sins of the world. Indeed, though God has commanded us to be fruitful in bearing children, yet fruitfulness can also be defined as being obedient to God in all His commandments so that we shall receive His blessings.
2. Flood (9:8-29)
And I will remember my covenant, which is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh. (9:15)
After God destroyed all except Noah and his family during the great flood for their wickedness, God promised Noah and his family by the sign of the bow (rainbow) that formed after a heavy rain, that He would never destroy man with another great flood, but instead with great fire and heat in the future (2 Peter 3:10) because of their wickedness.
3. Family (10:1-32)
These are the families of the sons of Noah, after their generations, in their nations: and by these were the nations divided in the earth after the flood. (10:32)
We are as strong as the weakest link, and similarly, the country or the church is as strong as the weakest family. In the beginning, the Devil, God’s enemy, started the attack on the family when he deceived Adam and Eve to eat of God’s forbidden fruit, and thereby they sinned against Him. After the great flood, God commanded Noah and his sons to be fruitful and multiply and replenish the earth, and they did. Noah’s sons were Shem, Ham and Japheth. Shem’s descendants became the people of Israel - God’s chosen nation, while Ham’s are the dark race, and Japheth’s are the light race. However, regardless of race, all are made in God’s image, and all must repent their sins, and by faith believe that Jesus Christ is truly God’s Son so that all shall have everlasting life with Him in heaven.
Prayer of the Day:
Dearest God, please help me to be fruitful in everything for Your honour and glory.
Genesis 7 & 8: Are You Righteous Before God?
Verse of the Day: (7:1) And the LORD said unto Noah, Come thou and all thy house into the ark; for thee have I seen righteous before me in this generation.
1. Righteous (7:1-24)
By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith. (Hebrews 11:7)
God saw the faith and the righteousness of Noah in believing in Him that He not only commanded Noah and his wife and three sons and daughters-in-law to build the ark but also to stay in it, while He completely destroyed the entire population of the world by a great flood because of their wickedness. It was the love and mercy of God as He invited Noah and his family as well as moved every kind of animals two by two into the ark before He rained and flooded the earth and destroyed every living creature outside the ark. It is also God’s love and mercy as He invites us to come to Him by faith and trust in Him, and escape fiery hell, and one day, promote us to glorious heaven to be with Him forever.
2. Remember (8:1-3)
And God remembered Noah, and every living thing, and all the cattle that was with him in the ark: and God made a wind to pass over the earth, and the waters asswaged; (8:1)
God remembered Noah and his family because they put their faith and trust in Him, and God shall also remember us when we put our faith and trust in Him. Noah and his family must have counted it an honour to survive in the great flood when the rest of their generations drowned and perished in it. What an honour for our God, the King of kings and Lord of lords, to remember us when we are sinners saved only by His amazing grace!
3. Rest (8:4-22)
And the ark rested in the seventh month, on the seventeenth day of the month, upon the mountains of Ararat. (8:4)
Every moving thing must rest and finally the moving ark rested on the seventeenth day of the seventh month on top of the mountains of Ararat after the great flood subsided and ceased. Noah and his family and all the animals in the ark then came out of the ark and have a breath of fresh air after they were in the ark for a long time. In fact, Noah and his family must be very thankful and grateful to God for saving their lives as well as their souls as they knew that one day they would be bound for heaven to be with their God because they believed and trusted in Him. God gave Noah the command to be fruitful and to multiply the earth with his offspring. Noah then built an altar and offered burnt offerings to worship and thanked God for saving him and his family from the great flood.
Prayer of the Day:
Dearest God, thank You that I am righteous in You, because I believe in You.
Genesis 5 & 6: Will You Walk With God?
Verse of the Day: (5:24) Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him.
1. Walk (5:1-32)
And Enoch walked with God after he begat Methuselah three hundred years, and begat sons and daughters. (5:22)
God gave to Adam and Eve (the first couple ever created by God), another son, Seth, after the death of their younger son, Abel, who was killed by Cain, their elder son. Cain was under God’s judgment, and so God gave them Seth, where Jesus Christ, the Son of God, shall come from his line. (Luke 3:23-38) Indeed, God is in control of everything. God knew that Adam and Eve, and their son, Cain, would fall from His grace and sinned against Him. In fact, after the fall of Adam and Eve, everyone died, except two men who never experienced death - Enoch and Elijah (2 Kings 2:11). God promoted Enoch and Elijah straight to heaven without them experiencing death. God had specially chosen them because of their faith in Him (Hebrews 11:5). Methuselah was the longest living man in the history of mankind as he died at the age of 969, while the first created man, Adam, died at the age of 930. The reason as to why men lived so long in those days must be because they ate fruits and food from nature, and there was no pollution whatsoever.
2. Wickedness (6:1-8)
And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. (6:5)
Since the beginning of time, until today, only a remnant truly trust and obey God, and thus they are called God’s children. Though God creates man in His image, yet God grants man the freedom to choose, and sadly most men choose to do evil and continue in their wickedness. However, God has His way of preserving and protecting His children, as He commanded His child, Noah, to build an ark in anticipation of a great flood that would destroy the entire world population. By faith, Noah and his family built the ark, and together with the animals in the ark, they survived the great flood (Hebrews 11:7).
3. Window (6:9-22)
A window shalt thou make to the ark, and in a cubit shalt thou finish it above; and the door of the ark shalt thou set in the side thereof; with lower, second, and third stories shalt thou make it. (6:16)
God commanded Noah to build a window on the ark so that air and light could come in and sustain Noah and his family, and also all living creatures in the ark. The window is a type of Christ, as without Christ, the souls of men shall cease to live forever. The door is also a type of Christ, as only Christ can grant abundant life to those who enter His door believing that He is truly the Son of God, the Saviour, and the Messiah (John 10:7-10).
Prayer of the Day:
Dearest God, please help me to walk with You now and forever.
Genesis 3 & 4: Man’s Awful Sin Verse of the Day: (3:17) “And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life;”
1. Serpent (3:1-24)
V1 “Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?”
God created everything good and especially man who was created in His own image. However, man failed God as he chose to sin against God’s command when he took and ate the forbidden fruit. It all began when the serpent who was none other than Lucifer (Isaiah 14:12) tempted and led man to sin against God. In fact, it was Eve, the woman, who was first tempted by the serpent as she succumbed to the lusts of her eyes and flesh and pride, followed by Adam, her husband. This is the beginning of the awful sin of man, and since then, man has to work hard on the ground for his living. However, God already had a redemption plan as He would send forth His only begotten Son, Jesus Christ, to die for man. Whoever therefore believes in Him shall never perish in fiery hell but have everlasting life with Him in glorious heaven - God’s greatest gift to man (Romans 5:15).
2. Sin (4:1-8)
V7 “If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him.”
Adam and Eve had their children, Cain and Abel. Again, God tested them, and this time, He commanded Cain and Abel to offer sacrifices to Him. God accepted Abel’s sacrifice because Abel obeyed God by giving the right sacrifice which was the blood of the lamb signifying the prophecy of the coming of the Lamb, Jesus Christ, who would sacrifice His life and shed His blood for the sins of man. However, God rejected Cain’s offering which was the fruit of the ground. In anger, Cain killed Abel - the first awful sin. Though Abel lost his life but he is now in heaven with God because he believed and obeyed Him.
3. Sevenfold (4:9-26)
V15 “And the LORD said unto him, Therefore whosoever slayeth Cain, vengeance shall be taken on him sevenfold. And the LORD set a mark upon Cain, lest any finding him should kill him.”
Despite man’s sin, God still loved and protected man, and even set a mark on Cain, and warn others never to hurt him less they be punished 7 times. Indeed, God loves man but He hates sins and desires that all should repent of our sins and come to His saving grace.
Prayer of the Day:
Dearest God, thank You for Your forgiveness of my sins as I trust and obey You.
Genesis 1 & 2: God’s Creation
Verse of the Day: (1:27) “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.”
1. Creation (1:1-31)
V31 “And God saw everything that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.”
Welcome to the first book of the 66 books of the Bible, the Word of God. Indeed, let us acknowledge and believe in the God of the Word who is the true and living God. Let us look around us, and appreciate the wonderful creation of this world, and know that there is a Creator. When we see our beautiful watch, we know that it must be a smart and creative man who has designed and make it. Similarly, when we look at the awesome mountains, oceans, animals, birds, fishes, insects, and especially ourselves - our minds and hearts - we know that there must be Someone who has designed and created all of us. That Someone is none other than God who has created all things except those things that man has designed and created. In fact, after God created everything including man in 6 just days and then He rested on the 7th day, and declared that everything was very good!
2. Command (2:1-23)
V16 “And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat:”
When God created man, named Adam, in His image, and then He created a woman, named Eve, as his help meet, He commanded them that they could eat everything that were in the garden of Eden except the fruits from the knowledge of good and evil. However, Adam and Eve chose to disobey God’s command and ate the forbidden fruit, and thereby caused the tragic fall of man. However, God in His foreknowledge knew that man would disobey Him, and therefore He had a redemption plan to send His only Son, Jesus Christ, from heaven to earth, to live, minister and then die on the cross and shed His blood not only for the sins of Adam and Eve, but the whole world, that whoever believes in Him should not perish in hell, but have everlasting life with Him in heaven (John 3:16).
3. Cleave (2:24-25)
V24 “Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.”
It is God’s desire and command that the husband and wife should cleave together and become one flesh, and establish their own family, unless their parents truly need them to physically, emotionally and financially support them. In fact, the husband represents Christ and the wife represents the church, and even as Christ loved and gave Himself for the church, the husband must likewise love his wife and even die for her (Ephesians 5:25).
Prayer of the Day:
Dearest God, thank You for creating me as I trust and obey You now and forever.
Revelation 22: Are You Ready For Christ’s Coming?
Verse of the Day: (V7) “Behold, I come quickly: blessed is he that keepeth the sayings of the prophecy of this book.”
1. Come (V1-13)
V6 “And he said unto me, These sayings are faithful and true: and the Lord God of the holy prophets sent his angel to shew unto his servants the things which must shortly be done.”
As we come to the last chapter of the last book, Revelation, of the 66 books of the Word of God, the Bible, let us remember that it is God of the Word that we must trust and obey. Many in this world may know the Word of God, but they have never truly know the God of the Word. The God of the Word reminds Apostle John the last time that all who truly believe in Him must be ready for His coming as He shall come quickly and catch us unaware unless we have been faithful in keeping His Word in our hearts and daily applying them in our lives. God again shows John the glimpse of glorious heaven with the pure river of water of life clear as crystal, which is God’s Word, following out of the throne of God and of the Lamb or Jesus Christ. In glorious heaven, all who truly believe in God by faith - from the Old and the New Testaments, the church age (our present time), the Tribulation and the Millennium Kingdom, shall have God’s name on their foreheads, and they shall see His wonderful face, and worship and serve and reign with Him forever.
2. Commandments (V14-20)
V14 “Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.”
The greatest tragedy for men at the Day of Judgment is to hear from God that He shall cast them to fiery hell, because He never ever knows them. We may think we know God, and we are His Christians, but it is what God judges and says that truly counts. Let us be careful not to add to or take away what is in God’s Word, because they are all inspired by the Holy Spirit. Let us also be sure of our salvation by truly believing and receiving Christ as our Saviour in our hearts, and obeying all His commandments so that we shall have the right to His tree of life, and enter into His heavenly city and be with Him forever!
3. Christ (V21)
V21 “The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.”
Indeed, it is all about God and His grace, and nothing about us and our works. It is only by God’s grace are we saved through faith in Him, and our salvation is truly His greatest gift to us. (Ephesians 2:8-10). Let us therefore rejoice always in the Lord for our salvation, sacrifice, suffering and supplication knowing that they are of God, and from God, and that the wonderful grace of our Lord Jesus Christ is with us now and forever!
Prayer of the Day:
Dearest God, please help me to be ready for Your coming by being faithful to You.
Revelation 21: It Is Done!
Verse of the Day: (V6) “And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.”
1. Done (V1-7)
V4 “And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.”
Whatever God plans and purposes - it is done! - Because He is God - I AM THAT I AM (Exodus 3:14). Though God gives men the free will, and sadly, the first couple - Adam & Eve - chose to sin against God (Genesis 3:6) yet God knew that they shall fall from grace, and already had a redemption plan for them - the coming, birth, death, resurrection and 2nd coming - of His only begotten Son (John 3:16). Indeed, it shall be a happy ending for God’s believers, because their enemies, Satan and all his demons, shall never tempt them as they are finally cast into eternal condemnation. God shall create a new heaven and earth and Jerusalem, and shall dwell with men, and they shall never thirst because He is the Fountain of the water of life. God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes, and there shall be no more death, sorrow, crying or pain, because His saints are now perfect in Him!
2. Death (V8)
V8 “But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake of fire which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.”
Indeed, God bless those who believe in Him and who are born twice (physical and spiritual births) because they only die once (physical death) as their souls shall live spiritually in heaven forever. However, those who reject God only born once (physical birth) but die twice (physical and spiritual deaths) because they not only die physically, but their souls shall also spiritually die (the 2nd death) and burn in the lake of fire forever.
3. Do (V9-27)
V24 “And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it.”
God shall build a New Jerusalem for His bride or His saints whose names are written in the Lamb’s book of life and they do bring Him glory for all that He has done! The New city shall shine brightly without the sun because it has God’s glory and the Lamb’s light. The city and street shall be of pure gold, and the names of the 12 tribes of Israel on 12 angels together with 12 great pearls shall be on the 12 gates of the wall, and the names of the 12 apostles of the Lamb together with 12 different types of precious stones shall be on the foundations of the wall. What a day it shall be to see our awesome Saviour and city!
Prayer of the Day:
Dearest God, thank You for all that You have done for me, especially my salvation!
Revelation 20: Are You Found Written In The Book Of Life?
Verse of the Day: (V15) “And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.”
1. Beheaded (V1-4)
V4 “And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.”
At the end of the Great Tribulation period, the Almighty God shall bound and cast Satan, the Devil, the old serpent, into the bottomless pit. God shall then raise His precious saints, and let them victoriously reign with Him for 1,000 years. These are the precious and faithful saints who choose to be beheaded for the Lord Jesus Christ and His holy Word, than to worship Satan, the beast, and receive the mark 666 upon their foreheads or hands.
2. Blessed (V5-10)
V6 “Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.”
God shall raise the saints who die during the Great Tribulation period, and they shall be blessed and happy and holy because they shall never experience second death but shall reign with Christ for 1,000 years and join Him together with His heavenly armies to fight and defeat Satan and his earthly armies at the final and ultimate battle of Armageddon, and then live with Him as His priests forever. After the defeat, Satan is then cast once and for all into the lake of fire and brimstone where the beast and the false prophet are, and they shall all be tormented day and night forever, and shall never ever deceive men again!
3. Book (V11-15)
V11 “And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them.”
After the Great Tribulation period and the Millennial Kingdom, the Almighty God shall judge all the people - famous and unknown, rich and poor - with His books - the book of life and book of works - at the great white throne. Those whose names are written in the books of life and works shall be with Christ forever, while those whose names are not found written in the books shall be cast into fiery hell, and then into the lake of fire, the second death. Let us therefore repent of our sins, and believe and receive Jesus Christ as our personal Saviour and Lord, and we shall never perish in fiery hell, but our names shall be in His books of life and works, and be with Him in glorious heaven forever!
Prayer of the Day:
Dearest God, thank You that I trust You, and am found written in Your book of life.
Revelation 19: Will You Believe The LORD OF LORDS?
Verse of the Day: (V16) “And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.”
1. Lamb (V1-10)
V7 “Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.”
At the end of the Great Tribulation period, God shall judge and destroy the great whore, the great city of Babylon, the mother of harlots or the false churches and teachings. This begins the marriage of the Lamb or the Lord Jesus Christ, and His bride or His true churches and Christians. Indeed, Christ knows His bride, His true churches and Christians, who wholly follows Him. Christ’s bride or the true churches and Christians shall be clothed in fine linen, clean and white, representing the righteousness of Christ. Indeed, Christ died on the cross and shed His blood for the sins of the world, and the true churches and Christians who believe in Him shall have His righteousness in them, and shall never perish in fiery hell, but shall have everlasting life with Him in glorious heaven.
2. LORD (V11-16)
V11 “And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war.”
At the end of the Great Tribulation period, Jesus shall return to earth, and this time He shall not come as an infant born in a manger and the son of a carpenter to live and die as a Saviour of the world, but as the Faithful and True and the KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS. He shall ride on a white horse to judge the earth with His sharp sword, the Word of God, and shall smite and destroy the earth and rule with a rod of iron.
3. Lake (V17-21)
V20 “And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.”
The KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS with His heavenly armies shall make war with the false prophet, the beast, the kings of the earth, and their earthly armies, and He shall defeat them and cast them alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone. It shall always be a great victory for the KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS and His heavenly armies because He always wins and nothing and no one can ever hinder or defeat Him. Let us therefore repent of our sins and wrongdoings, and believe and receive Jesus Christ as our personal Saviour and KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS, and He shall be with us, and deliver us from all our troubles, tribulations, tests and trials!
Prayer of the Day:
Dearest God, thank You that I believe and trust in You, the LORD OF LORDS.
Revelation 18: Will You Escape The Great Millstone?
Verse of the Day: (V21) “And a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone, and cast it into the sea, saying, Thus with violence shall that great city Babylon be thrown down, and shall be found no more at all.”
1. Great Power (V1-14)
V1 “And after these things I saw another angel come down from heaven, having great power; and the earth was lightened with his glory.”
At the end of the Great Tribulation period, the Almighty God, through the strong voice of His angel with great power, shall proclaim the destruction of Babylon, the mother of harlots or the false churches and teachings. Indeed, God is not mocked, and great city Babylon shall reap what she sows. Satan has deceived and blinded many through his false churches and teachings that they shall have everything they desire in their flesh if they worship him. Satan actually fulfils the lustful desires of the people who worship and adore him, but before long, they slide into the sins of immorality, idolatry and corruption.
2. Great City (V15-20)
V16 “And saying, Alas, alas, that great city, that was clothed in fine linen, and purple, and scarlet, and decked with gold, and precious stones, and pearls!
God sends plagues to burn or destroy the great city Babylon or the false churches and teachings. The people then realise that all their money and materialism can never truly satisfy their hearts and souls. Many fall into rock bottom and begin to believe the Rock of the bottom, who is none other than Christ. However, there are many who are completely blinded by Satan, and still reject Christ. Yet God is longsuffering, and He still waits for all to repent of their sins, and believe in Him, even during the Great Tribulation period!
3. Great Millstone (V21-24)
V24 “And in her was found the blood of prophets, and of saints, and of all that were slain upon the earth.”
Whatever the angel that throws a stone like a great millstone into the sea really destroys the false churches and teachings completely. Indeed, God shall ultimately judge and punish great city Babylon, or Satan, who establishes the false churches and teachings, not only for deceiving and blinding the people, but for the murder of His prophets and saints. Finally, the whole heaven, with God the Father, the Lord Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit, the Old and New Testament and Great Tribulation saints, as well as all the angels, shall greatly rejoice over the destruction and fall of Babylon, the mother of harlots and abominations of the earth, under the evil and wicked control and influence of Satan. Let us remind ourselves that the things of this world - money and materialism - that Satan offers to us can never replace the gifts of our Almighty God - salvation and sanctification!
Prayer of the Day:
Dearest God, thank You that I shall escape the great millstone as I believe in You.
