2 Corinthians 3: Who Is Your Sufficiency?
Verse of the Day: (V5) “Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God;”

1. Stone (V1-3)
V2 “Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men:”

Paul commended the Corinthian Christians because they were like epistles or letters of Paul and his preachers that others could read and experience the love of Christ through them. Indeed, Moses once wrote God’s words on tables of stones. Today, God’s words are written in our hearts when we believe in God and His words. As we apply them to our lives, we become God’s letters that all may read us, and come to God’s saving grace.

V3 “Forasmuch as ye are manifestly declared to be the epistle of Christ ministered by us, written not with ink, but with the Spirit of the living God; not in tables of stone, but in fleshy tables of the heart.”

2. Sufficiency (V4-16)
V5 “Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God;”

Paul affirmed them that God was their sufficiency and He shall provide all their needs if they shall receive Jesus Christ as their personal Saviour. Indeed Christ came to remove the veil of spiritual blindness from those who would believe in Him so that they shall see and taste the goodness and glory of God. Those in the Old Testament could also have their veil removed from them if they would believe by faith that one day Jesus shall come and die for their sins, and on the third day, He shall raise from the dead conquering death.

V14 “But their minds were blinded: for until this day remaineth the same vail untaken away in the reading of the old testament; which vail is done away in Christ.”

3. Spirit (V17-18)
V17 “Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.”

When we receive Christ as our Saviour, the Spirit immediately indwells in us, and our sins are forgiven. We shall then be able to look into the glass or God’s words, and apply them in our lives, so that we are truly transformed into God’s image reflecting His glory.

V18 “But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord.”

Prayer of the Day:
Dearest God, thank You that You are my Sufficiency and shall provide all my needs.
