Hebrews 2: Do You See Jesus?
Verse of the Day: (V9) “But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.”
1. See (V1-10)
V7 “Thou madest him a little lower than the angels; thou crownedst him with glory and honour, and didst set him over the works of thy hands:”
Jesus obeyed God, His Father, and left the splendour of heaven to come to earth in the form of man (even lower than the angels who once worshipped Him) to suffer and die on the cross for the sins of man and tasted death for man. Whoever truly believes in Jesus though he shall physically die, yet by God’s grace, his soul shall live forever in heaven.
V10 “For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.”
2. Sanctified (V11-15)
V11 “For both he that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified are all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren,”
Jesus not only forgives the sins of those who believes and receives Him as their personal Saviour, but also sanctifies them to become His joint-heirs and brothers. Jesus also deliver His people from temptations and bless them with abundant life with Him forever.
V14 “Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same: that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;”
3. Succour (V16-18)
V17 “Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people.”
After Jesus’ resurrection, He became the High Priest seated at God’s right hand interceding for all Christians who pray to God in His name. Indeed, Jesus shall help and deliver us from all the temptations because He went through them while He was on earth.
V18 “For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted.”
Prayer of the Day:
Dearest God, thank You that I see Jesus and believe that He is truly Your Son.
